Selendang/ Dupatta ishtyle

Early in the morning, when the brain hasn't started functioning, the hands fumble, the legs stumble and the lips crack when you try to smile at yourself in the mirror, it's impossible (for me lah) to tie anything more complicated than a tudong. But today, I couldn't find a matching tudong wanted to try a selendang or dupatta. And ended up winding it round my head and pinning it in random areas with multiple pins. Aii.

Enter Mrs Yasmin, the supertalented teacher who does super-ishtyle selendang tying! I called for F1 and she whisked me away to the ladies' loo and unpinned and re-pinned and even returned a spare pin when she was done :D I'm too malu to post up the before picture hehe, but here's the finished product:Picture0145v2

Ta-da!

Ok lah I tipu...this was after 5 hrs of running around school and it's shifted a bit but still lawa.

How? My agak-agak instructions:

Step 1: Pin it as usual under the chin with one side short and one side long

Picture0155

More or less like this

Step 2: Flip the shorter side to the back

 Picture0151v2

Why so serious?

Step 3: Pick up the corner of the longer end in front

Picture0153v2

Step 4: Bring it round to the back of your head, the same side as the shorter end.

Picture0154v2

Step 5: Pin it in place to your ponytail/bun/skullcap/whatever holds.

Picture0148

Easy or not? I blog fast-fast so that next time I wont forget how hehe

And now back to work. *sigh*

P/S: Bini kedua has christened the cat with the illustrious "Meow".

Gotta Love my neighbours!

Seriously! After years and years of Michael Learns to Rock (UGHH UGH UGHH UGHH) karaoke fans, the latest lot to move in sit in their balcony to smoke and have a few drinks. And they play a little music too....with a reallyyyyy good old-school playlist!

Right now I can hear Bon Jovi's Bed of Roses, before this there was Nirvana, Aerosmith, Green Day...yay!

And now it's Never say goodbye.

And I should get back to work :P

Hide and Squeak

This is another true tail of a cat and mouse. When I got home from my month long trip, I found signs of mouse break-in. So I bought 2 rat glue traps and placed one in the kitchen and one in the loo. And some food in them. In the morning, food hilang and trap empty.

Image(680)

To add insult to injury, the mouse left a souvenir.

Mice are actually pretty intelligent, and contrary to popular manufacturer's opinion, they aren't blind! Yeah, the trap is cute with cartoon mice getting stuck. But its enough to give the mice a pretty good idea what will happen to them if they step on the trap!

So, I tried a different tactic. I kidnapped a cat.

Image(700)

Kidnapped cat.

A slightly scrawny stray but seriously NICE! Most house cats arent as well behaved! I fed her and let her wander around the house while I got back to playing Pet Society heheh. Suddenly, there was a blood curdling screech. I zoomed out only to find:

Remnants of mouse trap

And a distressed kidnapped cat.

Image(682)

Trying desperately to chew off the glue from the mouse trap.

I couldn't believe that the trap that couldn't catch a tiny mouse managed to snag a whole cat!

Before anyone calls the RSPCA, the cat is none the worse for her little misadventure. We managed to remove the mouse trap glue together with a little vegetable oil from the kitchen and a lot of patience, trust and saliva from the cat.

Results of mouse trap episode:

One Extra Clean paw.

One Kidnapped Tulan cat.

On the bright side, the kidnapped cat visits often enough to scare mice away.

Cute hor? Macam pakai eyeliner.

Even knows how to sleep with her head on the cushion.

Awwwww.

I just had to!

It's Sunday, I'm down with a cold and superjobless. Plus it's a cold, blogless day...but then May of May's Vent-Out suddenly put up a post!

All in the spirit of Xiaxue's transformation from geeky schoolgirl to femme fatale.

When Xiaxue zhnged this

to this

and asked for reader entries, I sent in my amateur go...
somehow a bit desi, right?

Comparing the two:

Oklah very amateur compared to XX but still hope she picks mine anyway :)

And now I couldn't resist zhnging May's picture from this:
pretty already o

to this:
Macam Lindsay Lohan...esp with the hair!

Compare, compare:

Small chin                 No need la, a bit can already :P

Big eyes                    CHECK^100! And removed glasses too *Muakssss to the healing tool*

Small nose                A bit smaller only..plus a bit of "shadow" at the sides hehe!

Healthy glow / blush   CHECK!

Faux lashes              CHECK^10!

Whiten teeth and white of eyes    CHECK!

Reduce mouth size    Nooooo I'm a huge fan of Angelina!

And I left a comment-link since I couldnt find an email address to send the finished pic to :P

May, lemme know if you want the pic taken down okie?

So all we really need to be lawa is to drop 10 pounds, add on loads of eyeliner and fake lashes and coloured contacts.

*runs to kedai to buy all of the above* :P~

Holiday Home Work Part 1

Ten days of holiday and I'm only going
a) to sleep
b) online
c) to camwhore

Camwhorin'
Meh. So, I figured I would lug up the 7 litres of pink paint that's been sitting in the trunk of my car since last year - and paint my room PINK and WHITE! Not supercute stripes macam Xiaxue's Princess room lah, a blue and purple striped living room is more than enough stripes for me.
But first, decluttering! I have a crazy number of handbags, clothes, accessories, etc. And in Brunei, it's not easy (but not impossible) to find "poor" people, let alone any who'd want another pink handbag :P So I turned to google and searched for "Brunei donate clothes to" and BINGO! Brunei's No. 1 Social News had blogged about the SMARTER Shop in Bandar, behind HSBC in the Wisma building, where they accept 2nd hand stuff and sell it at superlow prices and all proceeds go to SMARTER!

So I dug through my closet and unearthed a few tops.

I still have these?

And found my brown cowgirl top....and a fur trimmed one *sigh*

Ten kg ago...

Two relatively new blue tank tops I never really liked.

One shoulder top I rarely wore and the cute top from Miri *sniff*

My fave turtleneck (10kg ago) and a tank with a dragon guarding the wearer

One of those badminton shirts from memory lane

My first top from Stones..used to be above Supa Save

A black tee, a white tee and a black & white tank :D

Swimsuit I didnt wear much cos of the ruffles

Handmade for me by Wook Jung's mom...awww *sob*

Aiii...the clutterbusters did warn that it wouldnt be easy, but it's done with 30 tops, a swim suit and 2 pairs of shorts. *YAY* And then the bags. At first, superdifficult. Like this:

Buhbye to pink bag, Hello to pink bag with Hello Kitty :P

Then even worse:

Buhbye to furry bag...Hello to THREE furry bags.

Like this cannot leh. So 4 of them went in one shot. Too kanak2 to use anymore.

And with 3 more made a decent pile.

So I could finally start painting :D

Lungiman...no space for the .blogspot.com :P

Didnt take pics of the finished door, but here's a pic of Basit. Wide-eyed Basit

Which reminds me very very much of a picture of my little cousin Shifa:

Wide eyed Shifa

Same or not?
